Dr. Odu Ugochi is a passionate worship leader, gospel music minister, and medical doctor whose life beautifully intertwines faith, healing, and music. Born on November 8, 1983, in Enugu, Nigeria, to devout Christian parents—Arc. and Dr. (Mrs.) T.I. Okoro—she was raised in an environment that nurtured both spiritual depth and academic excellence.
Affectionately known as Yugos, a name fondly given by her late, music-loving father, Dr. Ugochi has emerged as a distinct voice in contemporary gospel music. With a soulful, Holy Spirit-inspired sound, she ministers through songs that reveal the love, grace, and presence of Jesus Christ. Her music creates a
reflective atmosphere of worship, stirring spiritual intimacy and reverence for God. She often shares spontaneous worship sessions online and remains deeply committed to teaching about God’s ways.
Dr. Ugochi is the gifted singer-songwriter behind Let Go, her debut single produced by renowned producer, the Music Magnate, Wilson Joel. The song encourages listeners to release setbacks, burdens, and limitations and trust fully in God.
A medical doctor by training, Dr. Ugochi earned her medical degree from Ebonyi State University and is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in Family Medicine. Even during her undergraduate years, she skillfully balanced her medical journey with her musical passion. She served multiple
times as Choral Director with the Nigerian Conference of Christian Medical and Dental Students (EBSUTH chapter), ministering to souls through both her stethoscope and her songs.
Her dual calling in medicine and music is united by a consistent message of healing, compassion, and wholeness—care for the spirit, soul, and body. Whether in clinical practice or on stage, Dr. Ugochi’s mission is to spread the love of Jesus Christ and offer hope through her gifts.
Over the years, she has ministered in local churches and on various platforms, where her authenticity and heartfelt worship continue to touch lives. As her ministry grows, she envisions expanding through recordings, worship conferences, and outreach events, further extending her impact.
Dr. Ugochi is joyfully married to Dr. Odu Chidi, and together they are blessed with two wonderful children—a son and a daughter. With unwavering devotion, she continues to embody a life of purpose, praise, and service.
