Iboomz began playing guitar in 2008 and wrote his first song a year later at 17.
For years, his music remained in the archive—not from lack of passion, but from a deliberate decision to wait until the timing, skill, and vision aligned. During that period, he built a career in business, particularly in solid minerals and metals trading, earning him a reputation among friends and family as a “musician-businessman.”
In 2023, at the age of 30, he made a defining shift—teaching himself music production and fully committing to his artistic path. Within a year, he established his own studio, transitioning from songwriter to producer and artist with complete creative control.
Iboomz’s sound sits at the intersection of intellectual rap and Afro-fusion, delivered over Afrobeat-driven rhythms designed to make listeners dance, think, and dance again. He approaches music as both storyteller and observer, drawing inspiration from the tradition of the griot—using sound and spoken word to document experience, emotion, and philosophy.
As a producer, he blends influences from jazz, country, and indie music with rich Afro percussion, creating a textured and distinctive sonic identity. In 2025, he released a run of singles—Afro Country, Amina, Lagos–Tokyo, Runaway Soldier, and Broken—each exploring different dimensions of his evolving sound.
His stage name, Iboomz (pronounced i–boomz), is a childhood nickname that has stayed with him into adulthood—a personal signature that reflects both familiarity and identity.
With the release of his debut project, Zidatife, Iboomz steps into a new phase—one that signals not just the beginning of a music career, but the unfolding of a larger artistic vision rooted in storytelling, sound, and lived experience.
