After more than a decade at the forefront of African music, Davido enters another chapter of his career with Oriadé, his sixth studio album and one of his most reflective projects to date.
Released on July 31, 2026, the 13-track album arrives at an interesting point in Davido’s career. Fifteen years into his journey, the Nigerian superstar is no longer simply proving that he can make hits. With Oriadé, he appears more interested in documenting where he is emotionally and creatively while still delivering the infectious Afropop records his audience expects.
A More Mature Davido
One of the most noticeable qualities of Oriadé is its sense of maturity.
Davido has built much of his legacy around larger-than-life records, energetic performances and an unmistakable ability to create songs that dominate social spaces. On this project, however, there is a stronger emphasis on reflection, romance, gratitude and personal growth.

Is Oriadé Davido’s Best Album?

Timeless remains an important benchmark in Davido’s discography, while A Good Time and A Better Time contain some of the records that helped strengthen his international presence. Oriadé, however, offers something different.
It is not necessarily Davido trying to recreate his past. It is Davido acknowledging his past while moving forward.
Some critics have described the album as cohesive and heartfelt while noting that it occasionally plays things safe and doesn’t always venture far outside familiar territory.
That criticism is fair. There are moments where the project could have taken bigger creative risks. But its consistency is also one of its strengths.
